The Knock at the Door

When they take my voice, will you speak

When they take my home, will you open your door

When they sit me down, will you stand up

When they divide us, with whom will you fight

When they take my rights, how will you vote

When they take my peace, how loud will you be, for me

Will you still call me friend, or will I be your foe

There are so many things I need you to know

People hold power, but only as one

Feed the beast, and they have won

Look into your heart, your conscience, your soul

For I could be you, and you could be me

As I speak these words

When they come for me
